The land at Elm’s Farm has been farmed for centuries and today, nestled in the lush rolling pastures of the Sussex countryside, Elm’s Farm plays a unique role in promoting and conserving indigenous and rare breed animals and the countryside in which they are reared.

Sussex Cattle, Torwen and Torddu sheep, Berkshire pigs and Fallow deer (just some of the breeds reared at Elm’s Farm), graze peacefully amongst 1,500 acres of prime Soil Association certified land. Raised to the highest organic standards, Elm’s Farm animals produce meat that has the finest old-fashioned flavour and succulence.

Elm’s Farm is also home to one of the UK’s most important centres of bird conservation, the Pannel Valley Nature Reserve. Re-flooded almost 30 years ago to create a natural habitat of reed beds and lakes, the valley has become England’s largest bird ringing site. Here visiting bird ringers from all over the world come to contribute towards important research into bird population, migration and conservation.

The meadows around the nature reserve are the ideal location for the Elm’s Farm honeybees, busy throughout the summer producing organic honey for Winchelsea Farm Foods.
